Saab AB (publ) provides products, services, and solutions for military defense and civil security markets primarily in Europe, South Africa, Australia, and the United States. The company operates in five segments: Aeronautics, Dynamics, Electronic Defense Systems, Security and Defense Solutions, and Support and Services. The Aeronautics segment offers airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures, and services to defense customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. It also develops, produces, markets, sells, and supports the Gripen fighter.

The Dynamics segment offers ground combat weapons, missile systems, torpedoes, sensor systems, unmanned underwater vehicles, and signature management systems for armed forces. It also provides remotely operated vehicles and security systems for the offshore industry and nuclear power plants. The Electronic Defense Systems segment supplies solutions for surveillance, threat detection and location, platform and force protection, and avionics. It offers airborne, ground-based, and naval radar systems; electronic warfare systems; radars; and systems for controlling, monitoring, recording, and mission computing, including video and graphics, and communications management.

The Security and Defense Solutions segment provides C4ISR systems, airborne early warning systems, civil security systems and solutions, and training and simulation systems, as well as telecom carrier and power solutions. The Support and Services segment offers integrated support, maintenance, logistics and technical support, field facilities, and regional aircraft support services. As of December 31, 2010, Saab ABs leasing portfolio consisted of 106 turboprop Saab 340 and Saab 2000 aircraft. The company was formerly known Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget. Saab AB was founded in 1937 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
